Yoga and music belong together. One of the ways yogic traditions sees us is as multidimensional beings, as layers of vibration, frequency, and light, all emanating from a unified source in the field of Consciousness.

How might this source of light and sound inform how we think, speak, and act? How might this source integrate us more deeply with the life and wonder of Earth outside our door? How might it guide us in finding healing and Self-Realization through balancing, calibrating, rejuvenating, and harmonizing?

This practice will invite practitioners into an experience of the elements within and how the elements can serve as a pathway inside toward the Inner Conscious Self, or Ātman, and how our yoga practice can help us ‘tune’ our individual self to the Universal Self, Paramatman, and restore our connections as a species to the poetic and immutable laws of the biosphere and our lovely human family. The intention of the sacred cacao is to open your beautiful heart. Letting the love in as well as letting the love out. The sacred plant medicine facilitates the opening to assist you in feeling.

We will add a fun and exciting twist to this year's Cacao Ceremony, Ecstatic Dance. If dancing is your "thing" this is a perfect opportunity for you to join me on the dance floor. If dancing is "not, your thing" even better! Join me in a safe, judgement free zone to experience how it feels to release and let your body move to the flow of music.

What is Ecstatic Dance?
In its most basic definition ecstatic dance is a free-form dance movement inspired and led by carefully crafted music with the intention of creating a healing journey. The music follows a wave form, starting slow, moving to a peak, and descending into stillness. No dance experience or partner is necessary or needed. On one hand it’s a perfect outlet for those who think they “can’t dance” because they were taught that to “know” how to dance is to move in a certain way. On the other hand it is a luscious playground for experienced movers and dancers craving for a free space to express among the community. You are barefoot, with no additional substance (drugs or alcohol) in your system. The space is free from cell phones and judgement. No talking on the dance floor. The goal is to experience all the emotions that show up and move through them. It's quite beautiful and extremely therapeutic.

Project Create Peace with Xene Abrams

Our nonprofit has a mission to help the world re-imagine peace. We seek to get people creating a new symbol that represents creation and life itself. The project is multidimensional in approach, as we envision humanity finding more peace through art, but we also hope to see this symbol unite people in a manner that we can stand behind a new vision for peace in the world.

The concept is simple, we offer a stencil for the base of the symbol and people infuse the symbol with their peaceful thoughts and creativity. In this way, we create Peace together. The resulting artwork is a reminder of the dedication to create more peaceful thoughts/energy in the world, to not live in fear, and to have hope for a better future.

Stephanie Catlett - singer-songwriter

Stephanie Catlett is a singer-songwriter who lives in Iowa City with her cats. She creates a sound that is comfortable and unassuming, yet her sharp songwriting leaves a lingering impression.

Catlett's lyrics explore the quiet spaces between separate lives, and the sometimes-imperceptible cracks that appear when love and faith fall apart. Her music reflects the way that solitude can both constrict and redefine our lives. Many of the songs explore what we can learn when the world is turned upside down, and what we are compelled to leave behind -- a journey of self-reflection colored by loss, regret, and hope.

Lindsay, founder of Journey IN to BEing, invites you to tune in to the wisdom of your chakras, each with its own lessons, meanings, and stories. In this workshop Lindsay will guide you on a journey through your chakras utilizing recorded chakra resonant music, guided meditation, and your own free movement. You will anchor the experience with the creation of a mandala and have an opportunity to share in circle.
